Aidan Gets His Yellow Stripe Belt

Aidan had to master three different kicks, various blocks and memorize the Student Creed to earn his yellow striped belt at Tae-Kwon-Do class.

Marty's Car Gets Smashed

On the way home from the Space Derby, we got rear ended. Everyone was fine, but he rear of Marty's car suffered $2,100 in damage. The kids were very surprised that their seat belts locked up on impact. We got a rental car during the repair and the boys really liked it!

Each Scout received a block of balsa wood to make into a space ship. The space ships driven by a rubber band powered propeller down a wire track. With the same number of winds of the propeller, each ship was run down the track and the distance of multiple races was measured.

Connor spent many hours carving his rocket using a potato peeler and sand paper. He made grooves in the rocket and glued the fins in place. Last, he painted the ship and put on stickers. He took third at the Tiger Scout level and had a lot of fun winding and sending his rocket down the track. He names his rocket the red hornet. The Red Hornet is the rocket hanging on the wire in the middle of the photo.

Ditched Work and School on a Powder Day

On Wednesday, March 7th, the forecast was calling for 4-6 inches of snow, so we ditched work, pulled the kids out of school and headed to the slopes for a Powder Day! Connor took a ski lesson early in the morning with several other children of ski bums. It snowed heavily all day, then cleared up at about 3:30 in the afternoon. Even the jumps were open in the terrain park.

Saturday Morning at Basketball

Connor's basketball team, the Minutemen, played this morning. The game was evenly matched, but the Minutemen managed a win by four points.
